Building a Bridge of Visibility
My grandmother is from San Pedro y San Pablo Teposcolula, Oaxaca, a town where I spent many childhood days. Today, I’m building a connection between that community and the technology industry, helping Computer Systems Engineering students at the Instituto Tecnológico Superior de Teposcolula explore what a future in technology could look like.
Through my professional network, I’m bringing technology professionals into conversations with students and the university’s robotics club. The format is simple: a 30-minute talk on technology or professional development, followed by 15 minutes of questions. The goal is to connect classroom learning with real experience and give students access to people who can help them see what’s possible.
The students are already demonstrating what they can do. At a competition in Costa Chica, Guerrero, the robotics club earned first, second, and third place in line-following and third in mini-sumo. I’ve experienced how an opportunity can change the direction of a career. By sharing your time and experience, you can help these students see where their talent can take them and how to get there.
